My Story
I'm Rajvi Shah, founder of Ivory Keramikoz. My journey began at M.S. University, Vadodara, where I studied painting, and took shape at Golden Bridge Pottery — the true starting point of my work in ceramics. After a decade designing at a pottery studio in Ahmedabad, I set out on my own to create Ivory Keramikoz.
My work is shaped by the things I notice while travelling — natural forms, unusual places, furniture, the quiet character of interior spaces. I'm drawn to how a single place can stay unchanged yet stir different emotions in different people, and I sketch constantly to hold onto those moments. Those sketches guide my hands and have become essential to how I create. Ivory Keramikoz is a modern ceramics and porcelain brand that tells stories through texture, layering, and craft — every line, curve, and surface a small ritual rooted in creativity, right down to the logo.
My process begins with preparing my own clay body, which is then shaped into the desired form either on my potter’s wheel or through slip casting. On selected raw forms, I add decorative details using slip trailing. The pieces are first fired in the kiln at 900°C to create bisque ware. I then apply underglaze sketches and paintings inspired by everyday objects, nature, and abstract forms. Finally, the pieces are glazed and fired again at 1220°C, transforming them into unique wearable and functional works of art that bring immense joy to both the maker and the user.
